Great Apes

Great apes are primates which include four living species namely the orangutan, gorilla, chimpanzee and us - humans. These primates include the Eastern and Western gorilla, Bornean, Sumatran and Tapanuli orangutan as well as the Bonobo and Chimpanzees. Though most would associate gorillas as angry and aggressive animals, they are much sought after as mascots for sports teams. Unlike their close relative, the orangutan is usually relaxing in a tree and is laid-back whilst the chimpanzees are often seen smiling or exibiting funny faces.
